Privacy notice
Nearby is a private, invite-only community for adults aged 18 and over.
What we store
Your username, password (stored only in scrambled form), date of birth, profile details and photos you add, your messages and photos you send, who you favourite, tap, block or view, albums you create and who you share them with, and when you were last online (not recorded if you use Incognito).
Location
Location is optional. You can pick an area by hand, use approximate GPS, or switch it off. Other members only ever see a distance range such as “Within 2 km”, never coordinates. GPS positions are rounded before they are saved.
If you choose to share your location in a chat, that one person can see an approximate position (to about 100 m) for one hour, after which it is deleted. Expiring photos are deleted a minute after they are opened, or after 7 days if never opened, but anyone can still take a screenshot.
Who can see it
Other members can see your profile unless you hide from the grid or block them. The admin can see account details and reports. We do not sell data and use no advertising or tracking cookies, only a login cookie.
Your rights
You can edit your profile at any time and delete your account and all your data under Me › Settings. To ask about your data, contact the admin. UK users can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
